Kalamidad Paghandaan: Gutom at Malnutrisyon Agapan
The Nutrition Month Celebration is held every year particularly on the Month of July. The said celebration aims to promote good health and proper Nutrition. To do this, different elementary and secondary schools conduct different activities and competitions. Most of this contests and competitions are always needed to be relevant to the theme. This year's theme is "Kalamidad Paghandaan: Gutom at Malnutrisyon Agapan" which focuses on the proper nutrition needed in case of emergencies.
Our school, Ilocos Sur National High School, particularly the TLE Department will never give in if interesting, convincing, and awesome activities are what we are talking about. Every year, the said department never fails to conduct contests and competitions that always has that factor to convince students to join. One example is the food festival. This competition aims to give the students the chance to show their capabilities to be able to sell nutritious foods. I felt so enjoyed joining this competition notwithstanding the weariness we felt. Another contest that I loved was the mural painting. Even though I didn't join the contest, I was so amazed with the students who partake because of their creativity and craft painting. Of course, I will never forget the Nutri-Jingle Competition. This is the competition that I always look forward into. Seriously, this is the only contest that entertains me so much. Even though we still didn't win, we never lose hope in believing that someday, our section could be announced as a winner. These are just 3 competitions but are already amazing. How much more if all of the contest and competitions can be described?
Nutrition Month is definitely needed to be celebrated, not just because we want fun and awesome competitions, but also to encourage people to give attention and observe good health and proper nutrition. But, let us also consider the fact that this activities aren't only conducted just to promote but also to enhance our creativity, capabilities and talents.
