Essence of Christmas

Bottle Caps used as TambourinesIt's December again! The winds are getting colder and the nights are getting longer! People are fixing their Christmas Trees. Colorful lights are set to entertain our eyes. Children are  joyfully and happily singing songs in the tune of bottle caps as tambourines and large cans as drums while stopping by on every other house. Every member of the family are gathered around a long table to conquer a bunch of delicious and mouth-watering foods. Yep! The Christmas spirit had finally begun.

But it doesn't end here. There's more to explore and learn about the so called "happiest day of the year". Many of us are familiar only with the baby on the manger with mother Mary and San Pedro nearby and Three Kings offering gifts for the new born baby. What about the true essence of it? One is sharing not only of material things but also of ourselves with all our heart. Joy is another one which is a way of expressing our gratitude to the Lord for our saviour had come. Another is love which is needed to be given to everybody for us to have unity and peace around the world. Now let me ask you, are you valuing these things? Are you doing these things? If not, then you should start from now. If not, Santa won't give you your present, Just kidding.

Just a few days from now, Christmas Day will be celebrated. Let us bring life to the true essence of Christmas and don't forget the main reason why we're celebrating December 25, the birth of Jesus Christ. Merry Christmas everyone.
